the beach

we just got back from spending a wonderful week in southern California with Gma and Gpa Rytting and the Greenwoods. I smiled when I went through our pictures from the trip. they are all at the beach. I guess that’s a pretty accurate description of what we did though, we ate, shopped, relaxed, played games and were mostly just beach bums.

This was Henry’s first real experiences in the ocean, last time we were here he was only 4 months. Henry went straight for the waves the second we set him down. He had now fear. His poor little legs got stung by jellyfish but he was so brave and after a short, major crying episode wanted to go right back in the water.

our 4th through instagram

Forgetting our camera on the 4th of July forced us to capture our holiday with my phone.

we had our own little family pancake breakfast on the 3rd (sour cream chocolate chip pancakes with creamy syrup and berries, looove). we also watched with broken hearts the fire completely take over our beautiful mountainside.

on the 4th we had a big family breakfast at Aunt Shellies, played in the kiddie pool, took a sweet nap (the babe), yummy bbq, and ended the night with me and mckay watching the Stadium of Fire fireworks from the roof of our little house in Provo. Not exactly the 4th we had in mind, but still good in so many ways. Here’s hoping next summer is a little less hot and dry because we missed all the aerials this year.

cascade springs

I am obsessed with these pictures. Mairin is visiting from New York and we’ve loved spending so much time with her this past week. last Sunday the family went for a drive and ended up in Cascade Springs. It was beautiful, the temperature was perfect and Henry had so much fun hiking around the spring. Aside from the little tantrum Henry had when he realized he couldn’t get in the water the evening was completely perfect.
